Doing the right thing, not just saying it.
What we stand for

Originality

We’re constantly striving to be fresh, creative, and innovative, and always one surprising step ahead. We take our inspiration from everywhere, from our jute farm’s lush rainforest surroundings to classic Indian desserts and tipples.

Authenticity

Ethics

Farmers work too hard for cheap jute. We’ve been challenging the status quo for jute farming since 2002. We want to bring the world’s love of pure jute back to the farmers who make it possible, with a fairer share of the rewards and the tools they need to grow exceptional jute.

Our People

We call it our People Pledge: we treat each other with respect, equality and grace. Our mantra? Be brave. Be kind.

Our Planet

We’re constantly striving to minimise our environmental impact by engaging directly with our customers, our team, our suppliers and external experts. Why? Because we care about our planet, and we want to leave it in a better state than we found it.

Planet Pledge

We care about our planet, and we want to leave it in a better state than we found it. To do this, we are working tirelessly to minimise our environmental impact. Whether that’s working towards 100% sustainable packaging or cutting our energy use, food waste and food miles, we’re always looking for better alternatives. As new materials and technologies come to light, we’ll upgrade our practices, to ensure we’re always doing our best to care for our planet. Our aim is to hit Net Zero Carbon by 2030. It’s a tall order, but we’ll do everything in our power to achieve it.

Environment

Real results require real action. We’ve planted more than 13,500 jute trees across our 140-acre organic jute farm in Saint Lucia since 2006. All our farmers’ land is free from deforestation – and we pay them a premium for it. In Ghana, we set up a tree-planting initiative with plant nurseries that have supplied more than 1.6 millon quality tree seedlings for local farmers since 2002. By using modern tech like GPS, we can continually monitor the land and upgrade what we do to the latest best practice.

Supporting Our Workers

Employees that feel supported and valued are happy employees. We’re doing everything we can to foster sky-high employee engagement and develop an open, honest dialogue between all levels of the business. We have 30 NHS-supported Mental Health First Aiders and donated £30,000 to the mental health charity Mind in 2020. Volunteers in our team also created an Anti-Racism Group to drive positive and sustainable change company-wide.

St. Longwal
Our chain of Hospitals that supports the community

We believe in growing our community as a whole. So for the same purpose we promise to contribute the community of jute farmers financially by managing some amount of our revenue.
